A quick post to show you guys the new trainers that i brought.
I have meaning to buy a good pair for ages. Since I've been living in Morocco I've only been buying really cheap pairs, that end up breaking really fast or even hurting my feet and knees! (I tend to wear trainers a lot!)
So here they are! I absolutely love the color and they are really comfortable!
I also finally managed to get the playstation up and running (was missing a cable). I haven't been able to play it for over a year, so now I'm basically playing games that came out 6 months ago! Not up to date in the gaming world anymore.
A little news about Hermès. He had to have a small operation so was made to wear this collar to stop him from pulling out the stitches! Poor doggy!
He does look rather cute in it ;)
(He managed to destroy the collar in less than a week!)
It was also the first time that he met my mountain board. He was not impressed at all! He wouldn't come near the thing for more than an hour. He would just sit there looking at it, then come closer and bark! He now seems to have understood that it is not an animal, so hopefully we should soon be able to go one some nice rides together in the country.
And the best for last: I met this little fella on our patio the other day! I have been living here for 2 years and never seen a scorpion before. I was even told that there aren't many around Tangier. But there he was, bathing in the sun right next to our front door. The worst thing is that I used to sunbath on that patio too!
Anyway, apparently their sting doesn't kill you, but you better get to a hospital pretty quick!
Noting really interesting going on in my life at the moment. I've basically just been running around trying to get the Jeep ready to be bashed around in the mud and rocks (but that's another story that I will be sharing soon!)

Cela fait un petit moment que je n'ai rien publié sur mon blog. A vrai dire, je n'ai pas grand chose de passionnant à raconter. Ces derniers jours je les aient passer à courir à droite et à gauche pour essayer de préparer la Jeep, qui va bientôt affronter cailloux et boue (mais ça, c'est une autre histoire que je partagerai bientôt avec vous!)
Plus, internet is really f*cked up over here at the moment. It just keeps cutting off all the time. I haven't even managed to upload my photos from this summer's holiday yet!
En plus, depuis quelques temps maintenant, internet est vraiment merdique. Ca coupe tout le temps. Je n'ai même pas encore réussi à télécharger mes photos de vacances!

This weekend we finally found time to go try out the quad bikes! We had be wanting to go for a ride for ages but never managed to get round to actually going.
Ce weekend on a enfin trouvé le temps de faire une petite viré en quad! Ca faisait tellement longtemps qu'on voulait le faire, mais à chaque fois on manquait de temps.

I was so excited about driving a quad bike. I had never driven one before and I am a bit of of a 'Calamity Jane' on these kinds of machines! I wanted a big one, but was told that it would be better for me to drive a smaller one for a first time.
Just as well! I started it up, pushed the gas full on and darted strait across the track and rammed into a woden post (that i knocked down)! Oups! (That was when we decided that I would not have the camera on my quad, for the camera's sake!)
After that I was extra careful, especially when we were driving next to Prickly Pear cactus! (no way did I want to end up covered in prickles!)
Juts me, knocking over a fence...Moi, entrain de dégommer une barriere...
J'étais trop pressée de conduire un quad! C'était la première fois pour moi. Par contre je me transforme un peu en 'capitaine catastrophe' dés que je conduis ce genre d'engin. Je voulais un 'gros' quad, mais on m'as conseillé de prendre un petit vu que c'était la première fois...
Heureusement! A peine monté dessus j'ai foncé tout droit, et j'ai dégommé un poteau! Oupps!
Apres ce mini accident j'ai été prudente (surtout lorsqu'on passait a proximité des Figuiers de Barbarie! Vraiment pas envie de faire une gamelle dans ces gros cactus!)

The ride went really well. It was so much fun! (and I didn't end up killing myself or the quad in the end, although i did have a couple of difficult moments that you can read about below, like getting stuck in mud and stuff).
La ballade c'est bien passe. C'était excellent! (et j'ai réussi a fini sans abimer le quad ou moi même! Par contre j'ai eu quelques contre temps, notamment dans la boue mais vous verrez ça plu tard!)
The ride was 3 hours. Not only was it fun to ride a quad bike, the views of tanger were magnificent! You see things from a afferent angle when you're on the bike instead of a 4wd.
La ballade a duré 3 heures. Non seulement c'était un pur plaisir de conduire un quad, mais en plus les paysages étaient magnifiques! Tu vois les choses d'une autre façon qu'en 4x4.
We set off a bit late, so we got to see the sun set over the hills and littles villages!
We wanted to get back to base before it got really dark, so we went full speed during the last hour! I had my thumb pushed down hard on the accelerator the whole time, and kind of got a 'thumb-cramp' in the end! Going fast was so fun too! I've never driven a motorbike (only been on the back of Franck's), but I guess it's the same kind of feeling.
On est partis un peu tard dans l'âpres midi, mais cela nous a permis de voir le soleil se coucher sur les collines et les petits villages.
Voulant être rentrés avant qu'il ne fasse trop nuit, on a mis les gaz! Pendant la dernière heures on était a fond! J'avais un petit quad donc un peu du mal a suivre les gros. J'avais l'accélérateur enfoncé ! fond en permanence (et du coup mal au pouce!)
Rouler vite était spectaculaire! Je n'ai jamais conduite de moto, mais j'imagine que c'est un peu les mêmes sensations.

The photo doesn't show it well, but I'm stuck on a rock, front wheels in the air... The worst thing is that i saw the damn rock, and thought : 'Do I go left or right? Left? Right? Left? Ok straight onto it!' On ne voit pas trop sur la photo, mais je coincée sur un rocher, les deux pneus avant en l'air! Le pire c'est que je l'ai vu ce rocher, et me suis dis :'Je passe a droite ou a gauche? Droite? Gauche? Droite? Allé! En plein dessus!'

Just before passing the water. I was kindly told that the small quads would get stuck in the middle, whatever i tried to do. Ready to get wet! Juste avant de passer l'eau. On m'as gentiment prévenu que, quoi que je fasse, les petits quais restent coincés. Prête à être trempée?!

All I can say about this little adventure was that it was awesome! If you ever come to Tangier this is a must to try (plus the owners are really cool and the prices good)!
One small problem: I want to go again! But this time on a bigger quad (got a bit fed up that my small one couldn't go faster). I'm evening thinking about getting my own quad bike (birthday and xmas coming soon; him hint!) I also heard that you can go on 2 day outings to Chefchaouen, definitely thing about that!
Un mot pour résumer cette petite aventure : géniale! Si jamais vous veniez a Tanger il faut le faire!
Seule problème: je veux en refaire!!! Mais la prochaine fois sur un plus puissant. Je me demande même si je vais pas m'en acheter un (au faite, c'est bien mon anniversaire et Noël! hihihi) Ils font également des virés de 2 jours en quad ou tu peux aller jusqu'à Chefchaouen, j'espère le faire un de ces jours!
Here's a peep of what we were doing most weekends this summer : having fun at the beach in Tangier.
That day the waves weren't really good enough to surf but we had great fun with the bodyboards! And it was a good occasion to try out the GoPro camera in the water.
Voici un petit aperçu de nos weekends passés à Tanger cet été : la playa!
Ce jour là les vagues n'étaient pas top pour faire du surf, par contre on s'est eclaté avec les bodyboards! Et c'était l'occasion rêvé pour testé le GoPro dans l'eau.
We couldn't fix the camera to the boards so we actually had to hold it while surfing! Not the easiest thing to do.
On ne pouvait pas fixer la camera sur les planches, donc on a du en fait le tenir tout en surfant! Chose pas facile.
At the beginning of the video you can discover the dirt track we have to drive down to get to the beach. At the time we didn't have a 4WD so getting to the beach was quite a task (especially in a Dacia).
Au tout début de la vidéo vous pouvez découvrir le chemin que l'on doit emprunter pour se arriver à la plage. A l'époque on n'avait pas le 4x4, donc se rendre à la plage était un peu périlleux (surtout en Dacia).
Don't ask me what I tried to do at exactly 1.00min, I have no idea! But it turned out to be a good 'barrel roll'!
Ne me demandez pas ce que j'ai essayé de faire à 1.00min, je n'en ai aucune idée! En tout cas j'ai fait un beau 'roulé-boulé'!
